Black-headed Ibis/Oriental White Ibis - Threskiornis melanocephalus

Happy Thursday! Participating in the Thursday Challenge - Theme - Landscapes, Water, Calm...!

The Mandya-Mysore district is lush with paddy and sugarcane fields. We can sight a lot of birds. The Black-headed Ibis is one such bird that can be seen probing the ploughed/cultivated land for insects, frogs, and other feeds. The head, neck, and legs of Black-headed Ibis bird is Black. The body is greyish, brownish, and white. :-)
When in flight, the Black-headed Ibis looks gorgeous! In the photo, the backdrop being lovely shade of Green and the bird in flight oozes a sense of calmness; all of my emotions begin to settle down.

Regards,
Asha

    1. We spend a lot of time just observing the paddy fields, when we drive out of town. Ah, the sense of calmness is a great source of energy to return to the grinding stone :D
